Our prayers are with the family of Jerry Wade who now knows what eternity is all about! Jerry died peacefully at home the morning of 9/26/26.


Jerry was married to CGC's Director of Housekeeping, Rebecca Wade, who has been at her job for over 30 years. Rebecca was by his side when he passed and reported even his expression was peaceful.

New Dining Hall Update Photos

If you are like most people who are familiar with the campgorund you're thinking, "Tell me again where the new building is going to be."

The navy blue loop shows the new road that will reconnect George Pitzer Lane. It circumvents the new dining hall. The road above is a one way delivery road. The wider road below is for two-way traffic allowing a vehicle to drive from the main entrance to the zipline.

--> We've completed the jobsite and are ready for the concrete and construction crews. The following pictures show the elevation of the jobsite to lend perspective on how much the site has been raised for the new dining hall.

Customer Service


On a recent Tuesday morning, the CGC staff met for an in-service workshop on Customer Service. We ascribe to what we call "Yes-Driven" Customer Service. This philosophy doesn't mean "yes" will be the answer to every request. What it means is our staff will look for a way to say "yes." "Yes" is not always possible, but having the interest to find a "yes" solution if one is available is the way we want to honor our guests. When you come to campus with your group, we want to give you what you need for a great time of renewal and refreshment.

GIVE THANKS

  • Alan and Cameron Winters are appreciative of your prayer that they would sell their home in East Texas. Alan mentioned he would also appreciate prayer that the closing goes smoothly. It is scheduled for October 19. Their home has been on the market since December 2025 when Alan moved to Dickson to assume the role of Director of Facilities Stewardship (maintenance).
  • It is joyous that the new Dining Hall is making great progress. Pray for a smooth construction period. Thank God for the contractors who are taking this project on because the love CGC. They have all worked hard to bring in the project within our budget. While it's to be expected for additional costs to occur as a project picks up steam, please pray for stable material costs.

  • Rebecca Wade has been our Director of Housekeeping for over 30 years, and her husband Jerry passed away this past Saturday morning. He passed peacefully at home. Prayer for Rebecca and her family. Separation is difficult.
  • CGC is looking for a fulltime Maintenance Technician due to one of our current employees going back to school. Information about the position can be viewed at www.campgarnercreek.org/jobs.
  • Pray for the CGC staff and their families. Every staff member is grateful for this ministry and the great place to work and/or live. They all appreciate your prayers of support and blessing. Ministry has its unique relationship with money. And as we live alongside cash flow problems, it is often the staff that catches the brunt of that reality. Pray that God so calls them to the ministry of this place that perpetually tight budgets are easier to live with. We have a loyal and dedicated staff!
  • Pray that God will raise up donors to support CGC. The special givers to the campground make possible all the improvements and beautification we enjoy. Event fees alone don't leave money for extra. It is through generous gifts that the campground is able stay on top of everything.
  • A specific financial prayer is that God will call people to be part of the Ten Bucks a Month club. It's a key part of the way we plan to pay for the new dining hall mortgage when that time comes. Thus far, we have not borrowed any money because of gifts totaling more than$1.57 million, but more than likely we will take on about $500K of debt before completion. God is good, and God's people are generous.
